It’s My 10-Year Blogoversary!
Weavin’ Wicker Woman 10-Year Blogoversary was a couple days ago on July 16, 2014 and with everything going on in my personal life, I forgot all about it!
And for some reason the Blogoversary widget is not working correctly, so that was no help in reminding me, either! But I think for a narrow niche blog we’ve done pretty well, wouldn’t you agree?
Here’s my very first post on July 16, 2004. Wasn’t that short and sweet? Lots of the pictures to the posts were lost in 2007 I think it was, when I migrated the blog from Blogger.com to my own website here on WickerWoman.com, so please excuse that.

What dreams I had and the determination to share with the world this wonderful world of wicker, chair caning, basketry and home life.
Over all the years I’ve gotten to know some fantastic people through the blog and also my website and I cherish each and every one of you and all the experiences!
I am so grateful for and really appreciate all my followers and hope you continue to read my blog posts, no matter how few and far between they are.
Originally my plan was to do daily posts but posting that often, plus sending out a rather lengthy monthly newsletter got to be too much. That’s when I slowed down making blog posts to only a couple times a week, then finally only once a week.
Those of you that have been blogging for a while, know exactly what I’m talking about don’t you? After about the first year, of daily blog posts you get burned out and overwhelmed.
Most recently after hubby passed away, the posts became even fewer, sometimes only once a week if that. Now I’m back on a roll and want to get back on some sort of regular posting schedule.
I’ve featured and shared many, many excellent basket weavers, chair caners and cane & basket supply companies here over the years and hope you’ve enjoyed them as much as I have. as well as
There were some awesome basketry exhibitions, basket and chair caning classes (mine and other instructors), and I’ve provided tons of reference site links so you can go and investigate people, businesses and products you were not aware of before.
Well, are there any things you’d like to see more of here on the Weavin’ Wicker Woman Blog? Are the posts too long, or too short? Want to see more pictures, less pictures? More tutorials, videos, home life posts? What else?
Now that we’ve celebrated this 10-year blogoversary, I’m beginning to think I’ve run out of things to say, can you believe that?

Hi Cathryn!! I don’t know why I didn’t see this post in my feeds! Anyways, sorry I missed your Anniversary!! But happy belated Blog Anniversary! I like Throwback pics! Definitely! Go through your archives and dig up one or two and post! I’m also one who likes “home life” blogs…. especially how other creative people, like yourself, live! But I may be a minority. LOL! Keep posting! I enjoy your blog!

Thanks Lynne for such a nice comment about my ten year blog anniversary, I can hardly believe that I’ve been at it for so long. I feel like a dinosaur as bloggers go and I started out when it was pretty difficult, writing hard code, as compared with the current easy drag and drop templates where everything is done for you! It was a fantastic learning experience for me though and I’m glad to have the skills under my belt in case I need them in the future. Have also done some more digging in the archives of pictures on my computer and flash drives, so will post more “throwback Thursdays” soon.
