Need help–blog format question

The Wicker Woman-Cathryn Peters

I have a question for all you readers of my blog that I sure could use some feedback and help with. It has to do with the structure and layout of the blog itself.

Right now there’s a two column template with a snippet of the blog post on the first, front or homepage of the blog and then to read the entire post you have to click the link that says, “Read More.”

Do you like the short snippets of the blog posts on the front page of the blog and then the “Read More” link to click to read the entire post? Or would you rather have the entire post on the main front page so you can just scroll and read through each post in entirety on the first page?

Please put your comments below so I know what you prefer and can make the changes if needed! Thanks everyone, I appreciate your help, cuz I want to provide what you are looking for here!

  1. Cathryn, if it is possible I would rather read the whole blog, rather than clicking one more time. ( is that lazy )
And what is Tony’s blog ? Must be interesting if you follow it !

    1. Jan, if you click on Tony’s underlined name in his post, you will be taken to his website, it’s a link to his site. And on his website you’ll also find the link to his blog. Tony Stubblefield is a terrific basketmaker, specializing in weaving black ash baskets on molds, similar to the Shaker baskets you might be familar with. Oh, come to think of it, I just added a BlogRoll here on the right sidebar, toward the bottom. You’ll find Tony’s blog link there, too.

  2. It’s a tricky question. Those that follow your blog regularly probably like the linear approach. Those (like me) that go to your blog for help, advise, information prefer the snippets. I must admit that I don’t always read them all, but I do search for what I am interested in on any particular day, so probably visit your blog more than most people. If I haven’t said it lately, I really appreciate all the information that you have posted.

    1. Thank you so much Lori, nice to hear the vote of confidence and I’m thrilled that you come and look for information often! Let me know if there’s a topic you’d like covered and I’ll put that down for future posts. Do you search through the Archives listed on the right sidebar also, or just scroll the posts to find answers to your questions?

  3. I like having the whole post, but that is because I follow your blog already, so just go to the latest post. A layout that would show snippets from all recent posts could be nice for a new person visiting for the first time.

    1. Thanks so much for logging in on this blog format issue Tony, it really helps! And thanks for the follow also, I’ve followed yours too since you started. I will be adding a bloglog here pretty soon and will put your link up for sure.
