We all had a great time at the Headwaters Basketmakers Workshop in Bemidji, Minnesota last month. The focus was on a weekend of chocolate and basketweaving!

All the t-shirts and sweatshirts were created in a deep dark chocolate brown color  with my "Sitting Pretty" Antler Basket Sculpture as the logo. And in every class, during all the meal breaks and during the banquet the theme was CHOCOLATE!

It’s been hinted around that next year’s theme might be "The Return of the Trolls" so keep in touch!

There are still some openings in two of my three antler basket classes that I will be teaching at the Silver Dollar City Basket Seminar and Workshop held in Branson, Missouri on May 15, 16 & 17, 2008.

The official registration deadline closing was April 1st, but if you move quickly you can still register for either my Antlers Sitting Pretty or All Closed Up Antler Basket classes.

The Lyric Center for the Arts in Virginia, Minnesota presents a basketry exhibition by Angora basketmaker Cathryn Peters, entitled Antler Baskets–Masculine Element, Feminine Form  on March 13-April 13, 2008.

Opening reception, weaving demonstration and slide show will take place on Friday, March 14th at 5:30pm.

Well, the "Sugar on Snow" celebration in Beaver Bay, MN this weekend was a great success! Weather was perfect for the two-man saw contest, tug-o-war, eating the "sugar on snow" maple rock candy and watching the blacksmith work outside.

Inside we had candle making, broom making, soap making, carpenter, printer, dressmaker, cider press, grinding mill, carpenter, seat weaver, hat maker, bee skep weaving demonstration and many more taking place.  Jot the fourth weekend in February down on your calendars for next year’s celebration in Beaver Bay, Minnesota!

My antler basket, "Sitting Pretty," was chosen for the 2008 13th Annual Headwaters Basketweavers Workshop, sponsored by the Headwaters Basketmakers Guild in Bemidji, Minnesota! The picture will be on the brochures, t-shirts and sweatshirts.

The workshop will be on April 18-20, 2008, held at the Salolampi Finnish Village on the grounds of the Concordia Language College Villages. Classes are Friday evening 6-10pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, and Sunday 8:30am-4pm.

Teachers are: Janet Olney, Cathryn Peters, Sandy Quint, and Tressa Sularz
