Fibers Through Time 2010– A Fiber Odyssey

“Fibers Through Time 2010– A Fiber Odyssey,” the convention of the Arizona Federation of Weavers and Spinners Guilds, takes place on April 15-18, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Phoenix, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Here’s a sample of the events scheduled–make your reservation today so you don’t miss out on the fun!

Workshops: All types of fiber workshops including classes on pine needle basketweaving and Papago-Style basketmaking, Shibori dye resist, tapestry loom weaving, interleaved twills on 8 shafts and a presentation by Rowena Tank on marketing your craft.

Jurors’ Choice Exhibit, Deadline March 20th

Fibers through Time 2010 attendees and Arizona Federations Guild members are invited to participate in a juried exhibit hosted by the conference sponsors. Entries from all fiber disciplines, including handspun and /or handwoven clothing, accessories for the home, wall art, tapestries, rugs baskets, felted items, and handmade paper designs are welcome. The exhibit is open to all conference attendees and Arizona Federation Guild members. All items entered will be on display for the duration of the conference.

Handspun Yarn Judging
The Southwest Regional Spinners sponsor a Handspun Yarn Judge Certification Program and continually seek opportunities for practice and improvement. During Fibers Through Time 2010, certified yarn judges and judges-in-training will be available to critique your handspun.
