“Tines Sitting Pretty” is the newest of 17 antler basket patterns now offered for sale by antler basketmaker and instructor, Cathryn Peters.
It was the featured logo basket in 2008 for the Headwaters Basketmakers Guild Workshop and was also taught at one of the last Silver Dollar City Basket Seminars.

This is such a busy time of year with getting gifts for family and friends, sending out Christmas cards, traveling to be with family, shoveling the snow and then celebrating the birthday of our Lord on the 25th.
It’s also a time for getting your tax deductions for 2010 all lined up, taking end-of-the-year inventory for those of you in business, rolling in the new year with parties and celebrations and also preparing for filing State Sales Tax and Federal Income Taxes later on.
During all this hustle bustle crazy time, be sure to take time for yourself. Slow down, take some deep breaths, appreciate and be grateful for everything and everyone you have in your life.

We’ve been making quite a lot of changes, updates and additions to WickerWoman.com over the last several months.

This page tells a bit about the history of chair caning, shows a few examples of the different kinds of chair cane and also has a YouTube video of how chair cane seats are woven.

We are experiencing the coldest temperature yet this year up here in our area of northern Minnesota with -22 º F at 6 a.m. Had -17º F a few days ago, but it quickly warmed up to a more reasonable temp in the 20s.
My dad called from Oklahoma City this morning saying it was what we call, a “balmy” 23º ABOVE zero! Heck, hubby had to tease him by saying, “that’s T-shirt wearing weather up here.”
I really wanted to attend church service today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cook, but with the temps so bad and the fact that I park my car outside, it’s doubtful.
Our kids called from the Twin Cities area and reported that they were dumped on with over 15″ of the white stuff yesterday! Bundle up everyone and keep the home fires burning!
